Sit down for a little story...

Born in Glendale California, Corey started playing tuba in 6th grade mostly as something to do. It wasn’t till the following year when he was watching a marching band that he found the love for the trombone. The next day in music class Corey turned in the tuba and eventually switched to the trombone. From then on his life was transformed with the sounds of Glen Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Urbie Green.

His first trombone was a Bach TB200, given to him as a present on his13th birthday from my grandmother. Lucky 13!  There have been many other trombones since then...  But he will always remember his first. Speaking of firsts, want to hear how Corey first stumbled upon Phat Cat Swinger?

The year was 2006. Corey was partying it up at The House of Blues in Anaheim at a Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert. The curtains opened up and there was a band of 9 crazy cats. By the end of the show, he made sure to get their name and he kept it in mind. The following week when he had finally recovered from that wild night, Corey decided to email Marco to tell him that he had enjoyed the show. A couple emails and years later Marco reached out to him and offered him to be a substitute Trombonist for Phat Cat Swinger. There was a great chemistry building with the band each show that he played and one day, the band eventually asked him to join the ranks full time. The question didn't even need to be asked, Corey was on board since that epic night at The House of Blues. Now being a full time member in Phat Cat Swinger, Corey brings with him hopes of International tours and award winning albums.
